The panel of vaccine advisers voted unanimously in favor of the recommendation on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2.

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is expected to accept the recommendation before the vaccinations can begin for the age group, perhaps as early as Wednesday, Nov. 3.

The dose will be much lower than the company's vaccine for teenagers and adults, about one-third of a full dose, according to reports.
